1998 Cuban Punch Corona
This week, I’m back to do another review on a Cuban cigar. Its been awhile for me, but when I get on a Cuban kick, I stay on it awhile. This week I’m reviewing a well aged cigar, a Punch corona from 1998. This cigar is 5.5 x 42. How does the cigar smoke? Check [...]
Fuente Fuente Opus X Perfexion No. 5
I recently received a package from Cigars Direct with a few cigars for me to review. One of which I was pretty eager to fire up. Now I’ve had plenty of Opus X over the years, but I always feel a sense of excitement when I pick up a new batch plus I couldn’t recall [...]
Rocky Patel Decade Edicion Limitada
Two reviews in a row I’m bringing you a Rocky Patel product. Normally I wouldn’t do these back-to-back reviews, but when I found out about this cigar I knew I had to share it. The Rocky Patel Decade Edicion Limitada is indeed limited, because as far as I know only 250 boxes were made. And [...]
Viaje Oro Edicion Limitada
Happy St. Patrick’s Day from everyone at NiceTightAsh.com! Today, I’m reviewing the Viaje Oro Edicion Limitada. This cigar is an extension of the Viaje Oro line. Its a special size called the double torpedo and was release with a double torpedo in the Platino line as well: Oro (5 1/4″ x 52) Platino (6″ [...]
Cigar Review – Cuban Custom Rolled #2
This week, I’m reviewing the second custom rolled cigar that I received from my friend, Steve Howard. This cigar is a corona gorda with a much darker wrapper. This cigar also had an uncut shaggy foot. Will that make lighting the cigar a chore and mess up the burn of the cigar? Watch the video [...]
Custom Rolled Cuban Cigar
I recently got a custom rolled cigar using cuban tobacco from a friend of mine, @brooktrouttn, to see what I thought of the cigar. He actually sent me two and this is the first of the batch, torpedo. I judge the cigar to be about 6 1/2″ to 6 1/4″ and about a 50 ring [...]
Rare Ash: Don Arturo Gran AniverXario
I thought I’d celebrate my 30th birthday in style, so I’m smoking a Don Arturo Gran AniverXario. Jerry from Stogie Review gifted me this cigar during a herf at Bethesda Tobacco a couple of months ago, and I knew I’d be saving it for my birthday. I’m smoking the Natural version, which measures in at 6 3/8″ x 48 ring gauge (there is also a sun-grown version at 6 ¼” x 46 with a different wrapper but the same filler). It features an aged Opus X rosado wrapper, and the fillers is the “AF13 blend,” which is a mix of Opus, Don Carlos, Hemingway, and 858 tobaccos. The cigars were rolled in 2002, so this cigar has about 7 years of age on it.
Tatuaje Monster “The Drac”
It’s almost Halloween, and that means the second release of the Tatuaje Monster Series. Following last year’s release, The Frank, this year Pete Johnson has released The Drac. It’s a 6 3/4″ x 52 ring gauge torpedo with a Habano Maduro wrapper in a black, piano-finished coffin shaped box.
Rare Ash: Tatuaje Monster “The Frank”
Chris and I got the chance to smoke together again, and decided to review the Tatuaje Monster “The Frank”. The first of thirteen releases in the series, the Frank is a double corona, box-pressed wrapped in a veiny, oily Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper.
Tatuaje RC184
I got this cigar in a trade with Skip Martin (@chiefhava on Twitter) along with some other really great cigars. For me, it was the first time I’ve seen this cigar and, being a huge fan of Tatuaje cigars, I decided to save this for my birthday smoke. My birthday as some of you know [...]
