Against All Odds, Nomad Wins Cigar March Madness.

April 8, 2013 – In what became a true  Cinderella story, new boutique cigar company Nomad won the Cigar March  Madness event this year!

The event started with 64 cigar companies/brands in an all out daily  voting by cigar smokers and retailers to see who would move to the next  round.

During Nomad’s climb to claim the title, Nomad faced such cigars as  Brickhouse, L’atelier Lat 52, Liga Privada #9, and Joya de Nicaragua  CyB.

“It was a close race. I am told we often only won by a couple votes,” said Fred Rewey, founder of Nomad Cigar Company.

Rewey had mixed feelings once he made the final four.

“On one hand, I was thrilled at the popularity of the cigar. I mean  we just started [Nomad] last year and the response has been  overwhelming. The Final Four voting was between me and Jose Blanco to  see who would advance. Frankly it was hard to root for myself. I have so much respect for Jose that I really didn’t want to win” said  Rewey.

Nomad Cigar Company has been growing quickly since its premier in late 2012. Rewey is expected to make an announcement in the next week about expanding the line and releasing his first Nicaraguan cigar.

The event was sponsored by and was a big success for everyone who participated.
