Oliva Serie V Lancero
According to the Oliva Cigar Website, the Oliva Serie V is a complex blend of Nicaraguan long filler tobaccos. Blended with specially fermented Jalapa Valley ligero, and finished with a high priming Habano Sun Grown Wrapper. This cigar is blended to deliver full body taste while maintaining an unparalleled smoothness.
The Lancero vitola is 7†x 38 and carries a price point of around $5.50-$6.50 as a single.
So, for my first official review, let’s see what I thought of this cigar and see if it stands up to Oliva’s claim to be full bodied and smooth.

Had my first Olivia V Lancero the other day. It was recommended by @BulldogRifleman. I really enjoyed. It had a great draw, but I have had good luck with LX2, the LFD and the Cubao all lanceros. The complaints I have heard is that they don’t usually have a good draw?
If you like the lanceros I would love to see a review series on them especially the ones I listed above.
Thanks for the review!
Great smoke dispite the review. Need to show a little more excitement, brother. Cigar smoking should be a relaxing joy in your life, not a boring task. It should not be smoked just to review it. Enjoy the damn thing or put it down.
That’s an Oliva V !! It screams excitement, full flavor and great quality!!
I’ll stay tuned…
@xjv If you like lanceros, Chris and I reviewed the CAO Lx2 lancero back in February. You can check it out here.
xjv, planning on a Cubao and the El Tri in the near future.
Jason, will work on that. Didn’t think I was that blah…but it was late. Wasn’t bored by any stretch. Twas a great cigar.
Nice Review Brian!!!! I find the V Lance to have some kick to it. It’s always a cigar I have when I need some vitamin N.
You’ll make a great addition to the Tight Ash crew Brian. Personally, I think it is refreshing to see a review that is less “technical” (not that you aren’t cigar savy, just less cigar aficianado words) and from a country boy is even better. Who needs all those Marylanders anyway ;). Keep it up, don’t go back to just written……
nice review! I have had the robusto or toro in these and they are a bit strong for my tastes. I do like to keep some around for those occasions when I would want something with a bit more strength.
Mike
hope to see more video reviews from you!
