5 Vegas Cask Strength

The 5 Vegas Cask Strength features a blend of tobaccos from 4 different countries: Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Honduras and Peru. These tobaccos were blended to create a medium to full-bodied cigar that’s full of flavor. But as always, I’ll give it a try and let you know what my take is. Just like many cigars […]

Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve Corojo

For whatever reason good cigars fall in and out of my smoking rotation all the time. I’m not completely sure why that happens, but it probably has something to do with all of the great cigars that are out there to try. Much is the case with the Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve (OWR) Corojo. […]

Gran Habano Corojo No. 5 Robusto

Today Chris and Brian have a review on the road. As we take a trip to Richmond for a Rocky Patel Event, we decided to record a “mobile” review for you. Today we are smoking the Gran Habano Corojo No. 5 Robusto. Chris covers all of the particulars in the video so let’s get right […]

Mederos Fifty 1

Today I’m smoking the new Mederos cigar. The Mederos, a joint venture from David Levy and Carlos Mederos, made it’s debut at the 2009 IPCPR Trade-show. The cigars are Nicaraguan puros and feature Corojo wrappesr that were grown in the Jalapa Valley. Since this is such a new cigar, and little Is known about it, […]

Padilla Dominus

Before the IPCPR trade show Ernesto Padilla started tweeting about the new Dominus that was to be released in the upcoming months. He mentioned a few times that this was going to be the most full-bodied cigar he had ever produced. At that point the Dominus was officially on my radar, so when I saw […]

Quick Ash: Tatuaje Petit Tatuaje

In my search for a great “lunchtime” cigar, I have tried many different “small” cigars from multiple manufacturers. In the beginning I often ran into the same issue when trying these smaller vitolas. Most of the time I really enjoyed the blends in the larger standard formats but felt there was usually something lost in […]

Cheap Ash: Casa Fuego Toro

The Casa Fuego is a budget friendly stick from the maker of the well received J. Fuego Delirium, Grand Reserve Corojo No. 1, and the new 777 Corojo that Ben recently reviewed here. It is a Nicaraguan Puro rolled in Honduras. From what I can gather, this line is exclusive to Cigars International and they […]

Illusione ECCJ

Today I’m here with a stick I have been waiting a while to try and the anticipation is killing me. I have the Illusione ECCJ. ECCJ stands for European Cigar Cult Journal to celebrate their 15th Anniversary. Those of you who listen to Dogwatch Cigar Radio are probably familiar with Colin Ganley who writes for […]

New Ash: J. Fuego 777 Corojo

J. Fuego is known for great cigars like the Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 and 1992, but now he has developed his own line. I did a review of his Gran Reserva Corojo No. 1 on Cigar Weekly and raved about it, so when I was at IPCPR, one of my main points of interest was J. Fuego’s booth. The booth was really busy for most of the show, and, finally, on the last full day of the show, I was able to stop in and talk with Jesus Fuego and Ekert Cordon. They were able to tell me about their cigars in more detail and they really wanted me to try the new 777 Corojo, so they gave me a belicoso to sample. This is the cigar I reviewed in the video, but the next day, I got a package from Ekert with more 777 Corojos, but this time, they were the corona vitola. I have to say, I REALLY enjoyed the corona size more. It was more intense with flavor and a little more power. I shared the cigar with a good friend of mine, Jeremy Brown, that works for our local fire department and helps me review cigars. We have 3 others that also help out, but two of them are police officers that were on duty and couldn’t make it last night. We will do a group review soon.

Tatuaje RC184

I got this cigar in a trade with Skip Martin (@chiefhava on Twitter) along with some other really great cigars. For me, it was the first time I’ve seen this cigar and, being a huge fan of Tatuaje cigars, I decided to save this for my birthday smoke. My birthday as some of you know […]
