Pre-Light

The Vudu was a well made cigar finished off with a traditional cuban triple cap. The wrapper was a dark shade of brown and was surprisingly dry to the touch. The cigar also felt solid as my hand as it appeared to be jammed packed full of tobacco. Pre-light aromas were barnyard on the wrapper and wood/hay on the foot.

Final Thoughts

After lighting up the Vudu I immediately noticed the strong taste of bitter cocoa. This flavor persisted throughout the entire cigar was finished on a woody note. The spiciness of this cigar was not noticeable on the palate rather through the retro-hale. Despite being jammed full of tobacco the cigar drew reasonably well with only a slight bit of resistance. Additionally the cigar burned evenly and held a strong ash.

The Vudu wasn’t a terrible cigar but it didn’t really hold my attention. For that reason I’d only see myself smoking these cigars on the golf course where my attention is focused on my terrible play. I’d wouldn’t recommend going out immediately and ordering a five pack or a box of these cigars, but I wouldn’t say to not try them. Overall the Vudu by Rocky Patel left me feeling… Meh.

Great review Chris, I smoked the Vudu Robusto. It’s a everyday smokes. I like the Vudu sweet, like bitter cocoa, lite spicy and woodie.

Hey Chris,

Another great honest review. They all can’t be Super can they? Does it come in any other size? If so, have You had any of those?I like most of Rocky’s stuff. But, shooting for a certain price point can have an effect on the final outcome of a blend. We’ve seen that before.

Keep up the good work and I hope the weather improves for You guys on the west coast soon.

Cheers!
