“Smoked Up” No. 59

The past week has been pretty crazy. I was hoping for a relaxed weekend to get some yard work done and maybe start work on my garden. Then reality hit me and I had my daughter’s third birthday to host, an 8+ hour meeting at work on Friday (that started late) and went to Ben Lee’s son’s birthday party at Chuckee Cheese’s. I am all for being there for the kids, but next time if Chuckee is involved, Shawn won’t be! That place gave me one headache I ‘ll never forget. I think every teenager should work there during their freshman year in high school. That would slow down some of the 16 and Pregnant TV shows for sure!

Besides that, the weather got a bit rough here a few nights and had some tornado watches in the area which is crazy seeing its only February! The weekend weather was not much better; muggy, humid and rainy. So I guess I couldn’t have gotten done any of my weekend projects no how.

Cigar Views

Viaje Satori Karma (2010)

Viaje Satori Karma (2010): This is one of my favorite Viaje blends ever produced. The Zen is my favorite size in the line, but the Karma is no slouch either. I smoke a Satori every year for my daughter’s birthday who which we named Satori. I have enough Satori (cigars) to smoke one a year until Satori goes to college and then some. With age comes a nice smoothness to the smoke that starts with a small pepper note. Followed by an even smoother woodsy and then a long lasting chocolate or mocha note. I was hoping these cigars would age well, so far they are. They are good fresh and (like most Viaje LEs) are getting better with age.

Room 101 Master Collection ONE Papi Chulo

Room 101 Master Collection ONE Papi Chulo: I have found a recent liking of this blend and have had all of the sizes in the line with the exception of the Monstro. The Papi Chulo is my favorite size of the line, which comes to no surprise to me as its my favorite size in most 101 lines. I didn’t pay much attention to any certain flavors, but it was a mighty fine smoke! Full rich flavors, great draw and a decent burn made for a great smoke to end a hectic day with.

Davidoff Nicaraguan Short Corona

Davidoff Nicaraguan Short Corona: This cigar made my top 10 cigars of 2013 and it is still an amazing cigar. Being a Nicaraguan puro, one would think it to be pretty spicy. But then you have to realize this cigar has been in the making for almost a decade. The smoke was smooth, had a little spice, a bit of caramel even slight hints of marshmallow. The two kickers to this cigar is the price and size. I can get two like sized cigars for the same price and I needed it to be about an inch or so longer. So its not one I would smoke on a regular basis, but after a long weekend of toddler birthday parties… I needed it.
