For the Sunday Fiver this week, I am asking you, “NTA Nation” as Ben has dubbed you, 5 questions that we would really like to know. What do you get most out of cigar reviews in general? (includes all sites, blogs, mags, etc.) What do you think of the general format of most cigar […]
Check out the new video at Room 101: A Look Inside the Room 101 “Conspiracy”.
Now it’s time for the third installment of the blind exchange series. This time I’m sitting down with a dark brown, nearly black churchill. Like the rest of the reviews in this series, I don’t have any information about this cigar, so the opinion I deliver should be unbiased. Let’s fire it up.
In my search for a great “lunchtime” cigar, I have tried many different “small” cigars from multiple manufacturers. In the beginning I often ran into the same issue when trying these smaller vitolas. Most of the time I really enjoyed the blends in the larger standard formats but felt there was usually something lost in […]
Today I’m smoking the La Aurora Preferido 1903 Cameroon Robusto from Miami Cigar Company. Featuring a true African Cameroon wrapper, the tobacco in this Dominican cigar is aged for 2 years followed by several months in oak barrels, and is rolled by a single roller throughout before 6 more months of aging.
At the 2009 IPCPR Ashton introduced the new San Cristobal Seleccion del Sol which, like the original San Cristobal, is blended by Don Pepin Garcia. This cigar features a Nicaraguan Sun Grown wrapper that was hand picked by Don Pepin and his son Jaime from the first crop of tobacco grown in the Estrella farm […]

The Diesel Unholy Cocktail is a new cigar from AJ Fernandez who makes the Man O’ War, Man O’ War Ruination, ITC 10th Anniversary, Rocky Patel Fusion, etc. This new cigar come in one size only: 5 x 56 Belicoso. It has a Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper with filler from Esteli, Condega and Jalapa in Nicaragua. […]
Today I’m reviewing the Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur Legend. This cigar features the same Ometepe tobacco that was featured in the Punch Uppercut that Ben reviewed recently. This cigar was created to be a full-bodied addition to the Excalibur line and was released at the 2008 IPCPR trade show. This cigar is available in 3 […]
Last week I started off a new series of blind reviews here on Nice Tight Ash. Charlie provided me with 5 un-banded cigars, and it’s my job to smoke them and see how well the perform. So since I’m smoking these cigars blind, and I don’t have much information to share on them, i’ll just […]
