Cigar Reviews
Carlos Torano Noventa Santiago
Torano released the Noventa in the 2006 to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Torano family being tobacco growers.  Don Santiago Torano left Spain to grow tobacco in Cuba in 1916. In 1959, the family fled Castro controlled Cuba to the Dominican Republic and brought with them Piloto Cubano tobacco seed. Later, Carlos Torano II […]
Oliva Serie G Natural
Back again for a “Humidor Staple” review with another Oliva product for you. This time it is the Oliva Serie G Natural Toro. This stick comes in at 6″ x 50 and is a great looking specimen. Like the O, the G has Habano seed binder and filler but sports a Cameroon wrapper. The value […]
Rocky Patel 15th Anniversary
Today I’m firing up the new Rocky Patel 15th Anniversary which is scheduled to be released nationwide on July 30, 2010. A big thanks goes to Patrick Vivalo for sending me the two samples I had for this review. The 15th Anniversary comes from Rocky’s new Nicaraguan factory, which also makes the 1961. This cigar […]
La Flor Dominicana Air Bender
La Flor introduced the Air Bender earlier this year and the hook is that they are intense, sophisticated, and powerful. Not sure there is all that much difference between intense and powerful but I digress… The Air Bender comes in six sizes and today I have for you the 5″ x 50 Matatan. The blend […]
La Aurora 107 Corona
The La Aurora 107 was released earlier this year to much acclaim. This new cigar was an anniversary cigar for the 107th anniversary of La Aurora cigars. This cigar uses an Ecaudorian wrapper, Dominican binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. When the cigar was first released, it didn’t have any smaller ring gauge vitolas. I […]
Rocky Patel Sun Grown
Continuing with the “Humidor Staple Series” that started with the Oliva Serie O, I have for you another cigar that finds its way into a lot of people’s humidors. The Rocky Patel Sun Grown is one of the cigars that hooked me on this hobby. As you will see in the video, things have not […]
La Flor Dominicana Limitado IV
La Flor Dominicana puts out a Limitado cigar yearly and each version is met with much enthusiasm. This version, IV, comes in at 6 1/4 x 52 and sports an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper ( I mistakingly say its a Nicaraguan Oscuro in the video). This cigar is released in a limited a number of 2000 […]
Nestor Miranda Dominicano
Nestor Miranda released a new cigar named the Dominicano to complement the much heralded Special Selection line. The Dominicano was created to celebrate Domincan cigar heritage. This cigar is a collaboration between Guillermo Leon of La Aurora Cigars and Don Pepin Garcia. The largest difference between the Dominicano and the Special Selection is the wrapper which uses and special Dominican leaf. How does this cigar compare to the Special Selection? Watch the video and find out.
El Tiante Corojo
Today Brian and I are sitting down together again to review a cigar for you. This time we’re firing up the El Tiante Corojo Churchill from Hall of Fame Pitcher Luis Tiant. These cigars are rolled in Nicaragua and are wrapped in a Corojo wrapper. These cigars are reasonably priced at approximately $6.00. Normally I’d […]

Today I am kicking off a new series of reviews that I am calling the “Humidor Staple Series.” In the ongoing attempt of all forms of cigar reviewing; whether it be magazines, blogs, etc.; we are always trying to get the reviews of the new stuff out there as soon as possible. While this is […]
